EFFECT ROLLERS structuring - to obtain a textured effect, apply plaster or plastic filler with a trowel and then structure using the effect roller. PROCEDURE: 1. Apply fine plaster or plastic coating composition on the wall. Optimum layer is about two millimetres, but it depends on the composition and quality (i.e. evenness) of the wall. 2. Use the roller to create the texture (a 3D effect). • You should apply uniform pressure on the roller. • Check the optimum set-up degree of the plaster or coating composition (surface absorbency, temperature, humidity, etc. play a great role). • Find out, whether you prefer rolling in one direction or experimenting with crisscrossing movements. • In case of initial failure, you can tear off the applied layer and start again. • Occasionally, clean the roller with a piece of cardboard spread on the floor.
decorating - to obtain a colourfull effect, apply paint with the paintroller and decorate using the effect roller. Or apply the paint/s directly onto the surface using the effect roller or the colour effect may be created by taking off the still not dry paint from the surface.
APPLICATION OF MORE COLOURS – TECHNIQUE:
• Feel free to experiment. • When preparing the roller, you can slightly smear the cardboard with other colours (you can use the concentrated KANA pigment alone).
2. When the base coat sets up, apply a second layer – this layer must not dry up. 3. Use the decorative roller to take up a continuous layer of this paint. 4. Make sure you occasionally clean the creative roller against a piece of cardboard. When too much paint is absorbed in the roller, wash it with water and let it dry up before resuming the work. IMPORTANT: • Feel free to experiment. • The charm of this effect is not created by a standard rolling of the creation roller on the wall, but by applying it to the wall and picking up the paint. • Try pressing the roller to the wall with its entire area and pull it away. • Try pressing the roller to the wall with one of its side sections and pull it away. • Try pressing the roller to the wall and pull it away while turning it. • Keep the roller clean.
