KANA tint pigments Use The modified liquid pigment concentrate KANA pigment is intended for paints and varnishes dying. It is mostly used for dying of water- based acrylic, emulsion and chalk-like paints. A carefully chosen pigment composition enables also dying of majority of solvent paints of the following groups: alkyd, ftalate, nitro, chlorinated rubber. It is also possible to use the KANA pigment for dying of water-based paints and some solvent transparent varnishes. In this case, with regards to missing filling substances, the effect of transparent dying will be achieved (e.g. highlighting of annual tree-rings). Dyes The KANA pigment is produced in 25 dyes. All dyes are mutually mixable and therefore it is possible to get an unlimited number of dyes. Use An optimally selected concentrate composition enables its perfect mixing with paints. It is enough to add the pigment to paint and stir thoroughly manually or machinely. While stirring it is necessary to avoid excessive frothing of the paint because it deteriorates application characteristics. It is recommended to try out the dye before use because in some cases (by diluent paints) deviations might come up. The maximum recommended quantity wich may be added to paint is 10%. Availability time Accomplished tests have approved that it is possible to use KANA pigments even 5 years after the production date when stored properly. PRACTICAL ADVICE White solvent products Transparent varnishes It is possible to use all paints. Tinted varnish highlights annual rings of wood. Pigment should be used in small quantity because some high gloss varnishes may get mat. With polyurethane varnishes first try out the use. Wood KANA pigments do not contain vehicle agents (resins) and therefore these must be added to paints and varnishes. Direct application is possible e.g. in case of raw wood or plywood. This highlights annual rings of wood. To achieve the dye required, dilute the pigment with water. KANA pigments cannot be stored any longer after dilution. A product tinted in this way must be treated with a layer of clear varnish. Plaster It is possible to dye the whole mass. Joining materials Dying is not recommended because of possible problems with achieving of uniform dye. It is necessary to carry out a dying test. Ceramics It is possible to dye not glazed burned ceramics. After paint application must be treated with varnish. Chemically hardened products Do not use. Cut flowers Put cut flowers into water dyed with pigment. Shake before using! The sediment
is natural because of the high concentration of the pigment.
